What causes people to become controllers?
1. Hurts and wounds - People get hurt and vow not to get hurt again so
they control their whole world. Hitler was a good example of this. He felt
rejected and hurt as a child, and then felt insulted by a Jew and ended up
hating all Jews because of the actions of one person. He sought to control the
entire world.
2. Environment - People who grow up in an atmosphere of control tend to
do the very thing they hate when they grow older. In a strange sort of way, they
seem to think, "Well it happened to me so it should happen to others."
3. Some people just choose to be controllers.
4. Pride
5. Insecurity
6. Laziness. They have refused to answer the call of God upon their
lives, so they resort to controlling others, to try an attempt to make up for
their own slothfulness. Besides they think it is easier to manipulate others
into doing things for them rather then to get off their lazy butt and accomplish
things themselves.
7. Jealousy. They let the call of God pass them by or for some reason
didn't answer when He knocked upon their door. They realize their mistakes and
instead of repenting and attempting to make it up to God, they start trying to
control others who they are jealous of because they do not want to see them succeed.
Malicious manipulation and control results out of jealousy and envy.
